Pricing, Fees & On-Road Costs
The price shown on each vehicle is the price of the vehicle itself. Depending on the vehicle it may be shown as "plus ORC" (on-road costs) or as a drive-away price – check the price label on the listing, or ask us and we will confirm the total in writing before you commit to anything.
On-road costs cover what is needed to get the vehicle legally on the road in your name. Depending on the vehicle this can include a current Warrant of Fitness (WOF), registration (licence), number plates and a pre-delivery safety check. We will list exactly what is included in your quote.
Yes. Prices shown to consumers include GST.
We aim to price every vehicle fairly from the start. If you would like to make an offer, use the "Make an offer" tab on the vehicle page or talk to our team on 021 0244 6997 – we are always happy to have a conversation.
Bank transfer and approved finance are the most common ways to pay. Please ask us about other options, such as card or cash payments, before you visit so we can confirm what is available.
Any additional charges – for example lender establishment fees, a PPSR search, or optional extras such as insurance or an extended warranty – are explained before you sign. Nothing is added without your agreement.
Warranties, Guarantees & Legal Protections
Ask us about the warranty on the vehicle you are interested in. Any dealer warranty, and any mechanical breakdown cover available, will be confirmed in your sales agreement.
When you buy from a dealer as a consumer, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 says the vehicle must be of acceptable quality (taking into account its age, price and condition), be fit for any particular purpose you made known to us, match its description, and be free of any undisclosed security interest. It must also not be stolen. The Fair Trading Act 1986 requires the information we give you about a vehicle to be true.
A CIN is a notice that motor vehicle traders must display on used vehicles and give you when you buy. It records key facts such as the vehicle year, odometer reading, WOF and registration expiry, and whether a security interest is registered. You can download the CIN for any vehicle from its page on this website.
MBI is optional insurance that may help with the cost of certain mechanical or electrical repairs after you buy. Cover levels, excess and exclusions vary between providers, so we will go through the options with you and you can decide whether it suits you.
Our trader registration details are shown on our Consumer Information Notices. You can also check any trader on the Motor Vehicle Traders Register at www.motortraders.med.govt.nz or by calling 0508 668 678.
Please contact us first on 021 0244 6997 or eliteautosnz@gmail.com – most issues are quickly resolved. If we cannot resolve it, you can take a claim to the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal (free phone 0800 367 6838) or contact the Commerce Commission.
Vehicle History, Condition & Inspections
Our stock comes from a mix of local trade-ins, auctions and imports. The Consumer Information Notice for each vehicle shows the country where it was last registered and the year it was first registered in New Zealand.
Yes – just ask. We can provide a vehicle history report, which can include registration, ownership and odometer records, for the vehicle you are interested in.
The kilometres shown are the odometer reading on the vehicle. Imported vehicles often come with readings from overseas auction records. A vehicle's mechanical condition is usually a better guide to its quality than its kilometres, so we encourage you to have a vehicle independently inspected.
Absolutely. You are welcome to arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection with a mechanic or an organisation such as the AA or VTNZ. Talk to us and we will help with access to the vehicle.
Our vehicles are checked before they are offered for sale and hold a current Warrant of Fitness at the time of sale where required. The WOF and registration expiry dates are shown in the Consumer Information Notice.
Where a vehicle was imported as a damaged vehicle, or has other recorded damage history, we disclose this – see the "Imported as damaged vehicle" box on the Consumer Information Notice – and we are happy to talk it through with you.
Test Drives & Dealership Visits
Yes, we encourage it. Book through the "Test drive" tab on the vehicle page or call 021 0244 6997. Please bring your valid driver licence.
Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours, but booking ahead means the vehicle is ready and a team member is free to look after you.
Our opening hours for each location are shown in the website footer and on the Contact Us page. If you are travelling a distance, give us a quick call before you set off.
Each vehicle page shows which of our locations it is at. If the vehicle is at a different yard to the one you are visiting, let us know and we will arrange for it to be there.
Of course – family, friends, or a mechanic you trust are all welcome.
Please ask our team about reserving a vehicle. We will explain how holding a vehicle works, including any deposit, before you commit.
Trade-Ins & Financing
Yes. Use our Price My Trade page for a free, no-obligation valuation, or bring your vehicle in and we will appraise it while you look around.
We look at the vehicle's condition, kilometres, service history, and current market demand. Your valuation is confirmed once we have seen the vehicle.
In many cases, yes. We check the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) and can arrange for any amount owing to be settled with your lender as part of the deal.
You can send a quick finance enquiry, use the finance calculator to see an estimate, or complete our full finance application online. Everything is on our Finance page. Your sensitive details are encrypted.
Not always. Many customers buy with a small deposit or none at all, depending on the lender and your circumstances. Tell us what you have in mind and we will talk through the options.
Once we have your completed application, many customers hear back the same business day. The timing depends on the lender and on how quickly we can verify your details.
A lender may check your credit file when considering your application, and that can be recorded on your file. We will explain what happens before we submit anything on your behalf.
